The roof patio, accessible via an inside hardwood staircase and safely enclosed within perimeter railing, lets you enjoy entertaining, tailgate parties, sporting events and other outdoor activities with an unobstructed, panoramic view. Surprisingly, the SkyDeck patio adds just 10 inches of height to a standard coach, allowing the Airstream motorhome to retain a low profile.

The Airstream SkyDeck is unique in form and concept. As the only motorhome to expand its living capacity to include a full-sized roof patio, the SkyDeck artfully maps the last remaining frontier in available living space aboard a motorhome. Much like the slide-out revolutionized the industry throughout the 1990s by providing customers with more available living area, the SkyDeck almost doubles the square footage of a motor coach.

The fiberglass "streamliner” gives the coach a sleek look, belying the presence of the strong roof superstructure. The Airstream SkyDeck is built upon the famous, rock-solid Freightliner XC Chassis, providing travelers with unparalleled performance and convenient service. Its 330 HP Caterpillar diesel engine provides 860 ft. lbs. of torque, and the power and performance customers demand.

As you exit the spacious and elegant living salon and galley on the main floor of the SkyDeck, the residential-style staircase provides safe access to the roof. Other RV roof platform add-ons are accessed by temporary, rickety and awkward ladders – never a safe proposition. The platforms themselves are small, with no available seating. In contrast, the SkyDeck’s marine-grade weatherproof rooftop furniture takes about 30 seconds to unfold. All you do is flip two switches, engaging hydraulic actuators that convert the roof from a streamlined traveler to a spacious and accommodating rooftop oasis. There's seating for at least 15 friends and family members or for elegant corporate client hospitality, with standing room for even more. And it’s safe – the patio is engineered by Airstream to withstand a heavy load. In addition to a great view, travelers can also enjoy the SkyDeck's barbeque area with wet bar, sun lounge, CD entertainment center, umbrella-shades and wet bar. When it’s time to head back down stairs, the patio conveniently retracts within seconds from controls inside the coach.
